The first New Directions in Critical Criminology Conference was first hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville TN (May 2016). The following year (April 2017) Old Dominion University, Norfolk VA hosted the Conference. This year we are proud to announce that the conference is hosted by Eastern Kentucky University, the College of Justice and Safety and the School of Justice Studies and sponsored in part by the journal of Critical Sociology. This conference will address critical issues including how critical criminology can and should be active agents promoting a society without harm, oppression and inequality.
